CREEK & RIVER WRITER'S NIGHT: CHARLOTTE FREEMAN AND ALAN KESSELHEIM

Charlotte M. Freeman is the author of Place Last Seen (Picador USA, 2000). She has a PhD from the University of Utah creative writing program, blogs at LivingSmallblog.com. She was the cookbook columnist for Bookslut from 2009-2013, and has been published in the Best Food Writing of 2010, Big Sky Journal, Montana Quarterly and online sites Culinate, Ethicurean, HTML Giant, The Rumpus and others. She lives and writes in Livingston, Montana.

Al Kesselheim came to Montana in 1982 to be a writer. Little by little, over a period of years, and through a combination of hard-headedness, luck, and persistence, he managed to make that happen. More than 30 years later he’s still at it. He has published 11 books, hundreds of magazine articles, and has collaborated with other artists on books, spoken word performances and photo essays. He has won a number of awards, including several from the Society of Professional Journalists, the High Plains Book Awards, and Bozeman’s Cornerstone Award. The most rewarding, and unexpected, aspect of his writing career is hearing from folks who have somehow been impacted by his stories.
